Country Overview

Kenya is a country characterised by fragile ecosystems, drought-prone climate conditions, poor infrastructure, instability and historical marginalization that together pose a major development challenge for the country. In addition to this, Kenya hosts a large asylum-seeking and refugee population largely due to the country’s location in a conflict-prone area.

IMPACT was first deployed in Kenya in 2016 through its initiative REACH and has since monitored refugee camps and provided information on the needs and intentions of refugees residing in, for example, the Dadaab refugee camp complex.
