The Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh host roughly 850,000 refugees. The crisis is in its fourth year now and prospects of return of refugees to Myanmar continue to be uncertain. Over the past years, successive joint response plans have highlighted the importance of a meaningful and dignified inclusion of individuals across all age groups and persons with disabilities into humanitarian response programming.
In Sudan, where over a quarter of the population is in need of humanitarian assistance, the year 2020 has seen a deepening economic crisis, exacerbated by COVID-19 containment measures, rising tensions in parts of the country In 2020, REACH led its first-ever multi-sector needs assessment (MSNA) in Sudan, across all 18 states and the Abyei Area, to provide humanitarian actors with an evidence-based understanding of humanitarian needs in the country, including for areas where humanitarian actors have traditionally been absent.
In March 2020 the Ugandan government took quick action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 across its borders. However, the recommended preventative behaviors were not met with broad acceptance in Uganda. IMPACT Initiative, as part of its participation to the U-Learn consortium, conducted a mixed-methods assessment to understand why.
