Our Activities

Assessments & Analyses

Assessments & Analyses

IMPACT supports humanitarian planning, programming and implementation through field-based assessment and research projects. IMPACT, for example, facilitates multi-sector and sectors specific assessments which map the needs, dynamics and socio-economic relationships of communities affected by crisis.

Information Management

Information Management

IMPACT provides information solutions in order to facilitate decision-making by aid actors. These products include maps, reports and factsheets that consolidate data from our assessments. Additionally, IMPACT creates data storage and management solutions, such as portals, databases and interactive maps.

Monitoring & Evaluation

Monitoring & Evaluation

IMPACT monitors and evaluates humanitarian and development interventions in order to support aid actors in assessing the efficiency and efficacy of their programmes. IMPACT’s expertise includes independent third-party monitoring, impact evaluations and sector-response monitoring.

Building Capacities

Building Capacities

IMPACT builds the capacity of local and international actors by facilitating the development of a better understanding of crisis dynamics and by building the resilience of aid actors for future crisis and shocks. IMPACT also facilitates peer-to-peer support between institutional actors.

Our Approach

Understanding settlements, ensuring an evidence-based response, promoting innovation and working through partnerships constitute the four core components of IMPACT’s approach.

Understanding Settlements

Understanding Settlements

IMPACT supports the understanding of settlements through the lens of community dynamics, governance structures and socio-economic relationships. We believe that a nuanced understanding of the context is key in implementing a targeted response.

Working In Partnership

Working In Partnership

IMPACT promotes a collaborative approach between and among aid actors, local to national governance stakeholders, the private sector and affected communities in order to improve the inclusiveness, effectiveness and quality of aid delivery.

Evidence-based Planning

Evidence-based Planning

IMPACT provides independent information and analysis on humanitarian needs, trends and response, enabling evidence based decision-making for planning, monitoring and evaluation purposes.

Promoting Innovation

Promoting Innovation

IMPACT promotes and facilitates the use of technology and innovation for efficient and accurate data collection and analysis as well as mapping and information management activities.
