Since October 8, 2023, Lebanon has been caught in a surge of conflict activity, closely following the escalation in the Gaza Strip, with violence intensifying dramatically since September 23, 2024. This has triggered mass internal displacement, particularly from southern Lebanon, eastern regions, and parts of southern Beirut, compounding existing upward trends in the number of internally displaced people across the country. This latest crisis comes amidst a complex and protracted humanitarian context in Lebanon, after multiple years of economic and political crisis.

Through its REACH initiative, IMPACT has been present in Lebanon since 2013, implementing a range of data collection and analysis interventions to facilitate evidence-based humanitarian planning at strategic and operational levels. Following the recent outbreak in violence, IMPACT is actively engaged at both country and global level, through launching rapid needs assessments, conducting joint analysis, and supporting the coordination and prioritization of the response.
