Shaping Practices Influencing Policies Impacting Lives

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Geneva, IMPACT Initiatives is a leading applied research organization and the largest independent provider of data in crisis-affected contexts. Through our initiatives—REACH, AGORA, and PANDA—we enable humanitarian and other aid actors to make better, evidence-based decisions by delivering timely, relevant, and methodologically rigorous data and analysis. Our extensive presence across crisis-contexts allows us to collect data directly from crisis-affected people wherever needed, including among the most vulnerable and hard-to-reach.

IMPACT takes an initiative-based approach to structuring our programming. Each initiative has a specific aim, operational model, and portfolio of solutions.

  • REACH strengthens evidence-based humanitarian decision-making through efficient data collection, management, and analysis – before, during, and after an emergency.
  • AGORA promotes localised and multi-sectoral aid action in support of the recovery and stabilisation of crisis-affected communities, in partnership with local stakeholders.
  • PANDA improves the impact of humanitarian and development interventions through programme design, assessments, and monitoring & evaluation.

OUR MISSION
To shape practices and influence policies in humanitarian and development settings in order to positively impact individuals and communities. We enable better and more effective decision-making by generating and promoting knowledge, tools and best-practices for humanitarian and development stakeholders. We believe that by understanding settlements through the lens of community dynamics, governance structures and socio-economic relationships, we can positively impact the lives of people, improve communities’ development pathways and contribute to a fairer world.

OUR VISION

To act as a catalyst for change of aid practices and policies in order to sustainably impact individuals and their communities.

OUR STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK 2025-2030

In 2025, we have developed our first Strategic Framework, covering the period 2025-2030, in close consultation with our governance, teams and partners. Building on our 15 years of learning, this framework guides us in setting new standards for research quality and to provide international solidarity actors with the evidence needed to support the most vulnerable populations in a people-centered and effective manner across all contexts of crisis.

We have a footprint in 25+ countries, with more than 500 staff in our country offices and Geneva HQ. Through our global team of research specialists, on average IMPACT publishes more than 2,000 information products on a yearly basis. Furthermore, our programmes are made possible by the contribution of hundreds of enumerators who are vital in supporting IMPACT with data collection and field research.

Aside from ongoing projects, IMPACT deploys its staff to sudden onset crises and disasters, supporting evidence-based and inclusive aid planning from the very beginning of emergencies to post-crisis environments.

Thanks to the relevance and success of our work, IMPACT is expanding quickly. We are continuously looking for talented new team members to join us both in the field as well as in our HQ in Geneva.
