Country Overview

During the past decade, protracted conflict, natural disasters and drought have resulted in increasing humanitarian needs and large-scale population displacement in Afghanistan.

IMPACT has worked in Afghanistan since 2016 through its REACH and AGORA initiatives. The work of REACH focuses on filling information gaps faced by humanitarian actors related to displacement, hard-to-reach areas, and sector-specific and multi-sector assessments.  In addition to the work implemented by the REACH teams, the work of AGORA, implemented in partnership with ACTED, enhances the participation of communities in the sustainable development of settlements together with local government actors.
