Since 2011, conflict across Syria has resulted in severe destruction, large-scale displacement and an escalating humanitarian crisis. As of May 2018, there is an estimate of 13.1 million people in need of assistance within Syria, with three million living in hard-to-reach and besieged areas. Given the constantly changing conflict dynamics, timely and comparable information is crucial for effective needs-based responses.
IMPACT launched its activities in Syria in 2012 through REACH, supporting humanitarian actors operating in the north of the country. Since then, REACH programs have expanded and to date provide regular humanitarian situation monitoring across the country. REACH also conducts regular sectoral and inter-sectoral assessment on the needs of conflict-affected populations.
Since 2014, through its PANDA initiative, IMPACT has provided monitoring and evaluation services for UN agencies and donors. In the remote management context that characterizes many interventions inside Syria, IMPACT’s monitoring and evaluation programs support in measuring and evaluating the work done by humanitarian actors in this challenging environment.
Türkiye And Syria Earthquake Thread
Following the two earthquakes that struck south-eastern Türkiye on the 6th of February, IMPACT deployed data gathering and analysis capacities to provide aid actors with timely information.
