Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Geneva, IMPACT Initiatives is a leading applied research organization and the largest independent provider of data in crisis-affected contexts. Through our initiatives—REACH, AGORA, and PANDA—we enable humanitarian and other aid actors to make better, evidence-based decisions by delivering timely, relevant, and methodologically rigorous data and analysis. Our extensive presence across crisis-contexts allows us to collect data directly from crisis-affected people wherever needed, including among the most vulnerable and hard-to-reach.

    • Health, Security & Psychosocial Support: We provide robust health and security measures, including comprehensive medical insurance and psychosocial counseling (up to €1000/year coverage for international staff), prioritizing a proactive approach to mental health support. 
    • Duty of Care & Risk Management: While some risks are inherent in humanitarian work, we have robust systems to assess and mitigate them. Your safety remains our top priority, and we work diligently to protect our team member. In most countries of operations, IMPACT is hosted by ACTED. IMPACT-contracted staff fall under the ACTED security management framework. Ensuring the safety and security of our employees is a top priority, and rooted in our duty of care to our staff. Our approach is centered on a dynamic security management framework that is continuously updated to ensure operational risks are systematically identified, analyzed, and reduced through appropriate mitigation strategies. We understand that our working environments will never be completely free of risk. To prepare for any escalation, we have a robust crisis management protocol ready to be activated should the need arise

They are designed to prevent misconduct, and ensure clear procedures for responding to concerns, creating a safe and respectful environment.

 

Competitive Compensation & Benefits (International Staff):

    • Salary & Adjustments: Receive competitive compensation aligned with our graded structure. Salaries are strictly determined by position grade and education level, ensuring fairness and consistent treatment for all. A location-dependent security and/or isolation adjustment is applied for challenging duty stations.
    • Contract Lengths: International field contracts are typically 12 months (6 months for junior or hardship roles, 24 months for senior roles), with options for fixed-term or open-ended agreements. This may be reviewed when funding contexts are highly fluid such as in the current situation (2025). 
    • Housing & Essentials: Accommodation and food are provided in a guesthouse. Depending on the country and position’s grade, a potential housing allowance contribution (up to 75% of local benchmark) can be considered for independent housing. 
    • Social Protection:Our comprehensive benefits package includes enrolment in a Swiss private pension fund (Swisslife), with a monthly contribution of 9.975% of your gross salary paid in addition to your salary, not deducted from it, and fully withdrawable at the end of the employment. You’ll also receive health, life, and repatriation insurance through IMPACT. 
    • Travel & Leave: Receive return flight tickets every 6 months, covered visa fees, and fully covered in-country travel and professional expenses.
    • Benefit from R&R (Rest & Recuperation) after 2-3 months (up to $500 flight + $200 living allowance) where applicable. 
    • Enjoy 36 days of annual paid leave per year, plus public holidays of your country of base and paid sick leave and compassionate leave.
    • Pre-departure Induction: A comprehensive induction includes 3 days at IMPACT HQ in Geneva and a one-week pre-departure training in ACTED HQ in Paris, featuring a 4-day in-situ security training.
    • Luggage & Personal Property: Contribution to luggage transportation (23-100 kgs, depending on contract length).
